Biography : Tribe Of Cro

Tribe of Cro are pioneers of instrumental exploratory soundscapes and textures ranging from heavy industrial guitar outbursts to otherworldly squiggles and ambient bleeps. Using all kinds of electronic trickery they are able to seamlessly glide between all kinds of styles.

Formed in Belgium in the mid 1990s they took up the tribal ethic which was reflected in their line-up which supplemented a nucleus of musicians with additional members.

Over the years, spontaneous improvisation has begun to give way to more realised ideas, although the celebration of each performance as a unique event is still a major part of the TOC philosophy.

Always able to rise to a creative and artistic challenge they have performed on up to three separate stages simultaneously, and at all kinds of events and festivals from a boat sailing through Holland, to the top of a mountain overlooking Innsbruck.

Festivals that have played host to TOC include 'Highlife Festival' in Holland, the 'Dour Festival' in Belgium, the 'Herzberg Open Air Festival' in Germany, the 'Ragnalove Festival' in France and 'Ancestral Powers Festival' in Austria. The band is warmly welcomed in the specialised international music press of progressive rock, alternative rock, space/psychedelic rock, trance, metal, and even jazz circles.

Over the last ten years they have released three albums to critical acclaim. Potlatch, the first release was followed swiftly by Sporadic Spyrogyra and Hydroculture.
