"The only reunion tour that could put Zeppelin in the shade kicks off and leaves us in no doubt: this is history" (NME, Nov 07)

The Verve join R.E.M, Rage Against The Machine, Kings Of Leon, Kaiser Chiefs, The Fratellis, Interpol, Chemical Brothers, Counting Crows, The Raconteurs, Ian Brown, Hot Chip, Justice, Aphex Twin and Alabama 3.

The Verve are back and set to play OXEGEN after a week that has seen a string of world class rock and dance acts announced for ‘The Greatest Rock n Roll Weekend of The Year’, taking place over 3 days from the 11th-13th July 2008 at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co Kildare.

The Verve are one of the defining bands of the modern era. Fronted by the iconic Richard Ashcroft, their hits include the anthemic Bittersweet Symphony and the haunting The Drugs Don’t Work. Their current tour has The Verve reclaim their status as one of the world’s most important bands with fans and critics alike acclaiming their return: "They're reaching back to the unique chemistry of the early 90's that made them one of the greatest live bands of that decade" (NME, Nov 07).

The Verve’s remarkable sold out show in front of 80,000 fans at Slane Castle in 1998 was their final performance before they split but this year they return to Ireland to wow the crowds at OXEGEN with a blistering set that will feature their hotly anticipated new material.
