Biography : Y

Rising from the basements and home made studios of Porto, Y? shot to the alternative hard rock scene in 2005. Nearly an year after, the band's self-titled debut Promo EP recorded at the Rec N‘ Roll Studios and produced by Luis and Paulo Barros (Tarantula), blends the influences of major rock bands such as Guns n’Roses, Korn and Metallica with progressive thundering riffs. With standout tracks like "Stop it" and "Glad it’s over" and Y?’s live shows energy, the band toured some of their home base most renowned stages like Hard Club, Blá Blá, Porto Rio, Maré Alta amongst others, showcased at Fnac (acoustic) and played at the SuperBock SuperRock Festival in 2007.

In 2008, hopping from behind the scenes after a few months break, Y? return to the stages introducing a new line-up ready to set up the rack, making it to the second place at the Front Lady Search Tour and entering the European Music Contest Termómetro 2008.

Basing most of their compositions around Mad Makk's (lead guitar) and Hugo Fingers (drums) musical approach, they managed to fuse various styles into contemporary hard rock tunes. While comparisons have been and still are being drawn between acts, Y? kept fuelling their audiences with new sounds unmistakably their own.

After four years of playing loud and hard, late-hour rehearsals, a lot of sweat, some tears and a few lineup changes, Mad Makk & Fingers are currently taking their talent and originality to an upper level so you haven't heard the last of any of them.

DEAD? Definitely... NOT YET!
