Biography : Manitu

Female fronted Swiss alternative rock band Manitu is said to «have this spark that makes the difference and distinguishes them from others». JP Musique Chroniques
Manitu is back with a new album, released in May 2011.
Edgy, earthy and punchy, «Rumble B» boldly mixes heavy distorted guitars with ringing riffs/buzz-saw temper, pounding grooves with hardcore drumming and unrelenting bass style.

Leaping from delirious to mind-blowing atmospheres, the song themes range from slamming political mind games and manipulation, to downright condemnation of the sacrifice of human life on the altar of economic gain, but also to humorously highlighting the dizzying labyrinth of human relationships and eventually reminding us that change is in our own hands.

Manitu have erupted across Switzerland's most famous stages, such as Caprices Open- air, Festineuch, Rock'air festival and rock clubs in both French and German speaking parts of the country, as well as music TV shows like Musicomax. Their song Take me back has been on the playlists of several radio stations in Switzerland.

«Such a great singer blessed with that much charisma is hard to find» one reviewer wrote about MannaLia. Addicted to the thrill of being on stage since age 14, the VIT graduate female song writer/singer spent 7 years playing in rock bands in the greater Los Angeles area and subsequently toured the United States for a full year, performing every night. She has been living in Switzerland for the past 8 years, where she is also known as a vocal coach and runs Voxpower studio.
David Grillon, a guitarist, songwriter and well known producer/sound engineer in the Swiss music business, is the cornerstone of the band. Together they founded Manitu and completed the current line-up with Lionel on bass and Diego on drums in 2005.
