Biography : Hydroelectric

In the summer of 2009, HydroElectric rose from the ashes of Palace In Thunderland. Founded by Monte Newman with the help of Matt Netto and Paul Eggleston, the band has evolved from a basement recording project to a heavy, riff-soaked animal, that is now ready to rock the local stages and airwaves near you.

The band has a long history and lineage that draws from past & present projects, just as the members do. The music is reminiscent of the early classic rock greats such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Whishbone Ash, and Pentagram, as well as some modern greats like Monster Magnet, Clutch, Soundgarden, The Atomic Bitchwax, and Tool.

The band creates music and alternate consciousness around heavy, catchy riffs, psychedelic synth washes, pounding drums, and moving bass lines. Each song tells a story that is different from the next- anger, sadness, past, future, present, love, hate, lies, deceit, and adventures. Future songs will be a complete and total collaboration and meeting of the minds, both in the physical and metaphysical planes… somewhere in the 9th circle of hell and the 5th dimension, the debut album is being completed, and soon it shall be.
The veteran rockers of this project have been playing shows for a long time in various bands, and together, they have many contacts and allies over the years. Soon, HydroElectric will be playing all along the East Coast and beyond.
