Biografia : Nasty Habits

NASTY HABITS is the best-known and most successful Classic Rock band in Vienna. It was founded in 1989 by Chris Heissenberger and Christian Schmid. The line-up changed quite frequently – the NASTY HABITS were everything from a duo to a quartet until 1998. They played lots and lots of live gigs performing only self-composed tracks.

In 1998 they put an advertisement in the newspapers offering the post of drummer. Peter Brkusic answered. After barely two weeks of practising together they went on stage and conquered the audience with an unforgettable concert. A year later, Peter called an old friend of his, piano player Helmut Puschacher. Helmut took over on the keyboard thereby completing the NASTY HABITS sound and style. Their first CD “Hard to break” was released the same year. In 2003 an EP “Don’t be afraid” followed.

In recent years they have played support for such legends and celebrities as MANFRED MANN, NAZARETH, GLENN HUGHES, JOE LYNN TURNER, STEVE LUKATHER, IAN PAICE, ALANNAH MILES and NO BROS. The NASTY HABITS are famous for their versatile, fast-paced and playful live performances that include the audience closely and intimately.

In 2008 they started a new project: a co-operation with Nick Simper, first bassist of DEEP PURPLE. It’s called “The Deep Purple Mk.I Songbook” and contains only songs from DEEP PURPLE Mark I. In September 2010 a long player named after the project’s working title and a single called “Roadhouse Blues” were released.
