Son of the Argentinean Jazz guitar player and alive-legend Walter Malosetti, Javier Malosetti was born on November 26th 1965.


A drummer in his beginnings, Javier decides to switch instruments and from 1986 onwards he has become one of the most required and most accomplished bass players in the music scene in Argentina. Almost simultaneously, Javier passionately developed his skills on drums, guitar and singing.


Javier Malosetti was a steady member of Luis Alberto Spinetta´ s band for eight years. He has also worked with Ruben Rada, Dino Saluzzi, Lito Vitale, Jaime Ross, Baby Lopez Furst, Alex Acuña, Larry Coryell, Jim Hall and Herb Ellis among many other well- known national and international artists. Furthermore, he has also taken part in many significant music events in Buenos Aires as well as in the rest of Argentina and the world.


Musician and producer of all of his own and other artists´ albums, Javier Malosetti has launched ten solo albums, many of which have been awarded with the prestigious “Gardel a la Música” award.


He has directed and hosted the TV music show “Música para soñar” aired by Telefé in which the most prominent national and international artists have performed. He currently hosts “El Perseguidor”, a documentary series devoted to the history of Blues, Jazz and Soul music, aired by Encuentro.


From 1987 to 2004 he taught private lessons of electric bass guitar, however, since then he has only given seldom master classes and seminaries for amateur as well as professional bass players in the country.


Since 2008 he has played an instrument specially crafted for him by the great luthier Mariano Maese: the M2, a double neck 5- string- bass and guitar. In 2010 the American guitar manufacturer Schecter crafted a special model of an electric bass guitar designed solely by him.


From March to August 2011 Javier Malosetti is co-starring “El Pasajero”, the Argentine stage version of “Passing Strange” the well acclaimed off- Broadway musical with lyrics and book by Stew and music and orchestrations by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, together with Diego Reinhold and under the direction of Florencia Peña, María Onetto and Ana Frenkel in which not only does he sing and play the guitar under the musical conduction of Mariano Otero, but he also makes his acting debut.


He is also the endorser of Schecter bass guitars and guitars (JM Signature), EMG microphones, Gallien Krueger amplifiers, Magma strings and straps (JM Signature), Kws plugs, Maese instruments (JM Signature) and Pony Wear and Clothing.

Javier Malosetti is currently performing live with his band ELECTROHOPE, with which he recorded his latest album TEN in different shows in Buenos Aires and touring the rest of the country as well as abroad in renowned venues such as Medio y Medio in Punta del Este (Uruguay), Expo Shangai (China) during which he offered six concerts, and the Jazz Festival in Santiago (Chile), in which he was invited to perform in the closing show.
