biografía : Cobra Starship

Cobra Starship is a band created by former Midtown bassist/lead vocalist Gabe Saporta. They are best known for their songs \"Bring It (Snakes on a Plane)\" from their 2006 album While the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets as well as \"The City Is at War\" and \"Guilty Pleasure\" from their 2007 album ¡Viva La Cobra!. The members of Cobra Starship, are vocalist Saporta, Victoria Asher (keyboard \"keytar\"), Ryland Blackinton (guitar), Alex Suarez (bass), and Nate Novarro (drums).

Early Years
Gabe Saporta, along with William Beckett of The Academy Is..., Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, Maja Ivarsson of The Sounds, Nick Wheeler of The All-American Rejects (although Wheeler didn\'t appear in the video but played guitar) and Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy (as a cameo) were featured in a music video for the film Snakes on a Plane. The song, \"Bring It (Snakes on a Plane)\", was featured on the Snakes on a Plane soundtrack, released on August 15, 2006.

Fall Out Boy vocalist and rhythm guitarist Patrick Stump makes a cameo appearance in the music video for \"Send My Love to the Dancefloor, I\'ll See You In Hell (Hey Mister DJ)\".

Viva La Cobra
Stump also produced Cobra Starship\'s second album, ¡Viva La Cobra!, which was released on October 23, 2007.[1]

On October 2, 2007, Cobra Starship released the single \"Guilty Pleasure\" from their second album ¡Viva La Cobra! According to the MySpace bulletin posted by the band, their new single can be heard on Absolutepunk.net on their artist page. Their homemade music video for the single was later replaced by one featuring Patrick of Fall Out Boy as their producer. They have also released a second single and video for \"The City Is at War.\"

They have now recorded a Spanish version of \"Guilty Pleasure\", and have played on the Vans Warped Tour lineup.

Following the success of Katy Perry\'s \"I Kissed a Girl\", Cobra Starship recorded their own version/parody, \"I Kissed a Boy,\" in summer 2008. The song was released in August on a free downloadable mix tape of Decaydance Records artists. The mix tape, under the collective \"CitizensFOB\" (For Our Betterment) and entitled \"Welcome to the New Administration,\" was the endpoint of a viral marketing campaign both for Pete Wentz\'s vanity label and for Fall Out Boy\'s forthcoming album Folie a Deux.

An earlier adaptation is of Gwen Stefani\'s \"Hollaback Girl,\" titled \"Hollaback Boy.\"

At their AOL Live Session, they performed a cover of Michael Jackson\'s \"Billie Jean.\"
