She began her career in Los Angeles, California, in the punk rock scene in his mid-teens, when he helped found The Bags in 1976. He left the band and joined Legal Weapon in 1981, releasing an EP titled "No Sorrow". .

She was invited to join The Gun Club in 1982. Morrison left that group after her second tour with them, and another band invited her, Fur Bible. Opening the concert for the band Siouxsie & the Banshees, Morrison was contacted by Andrew Eldritch, asking him to join The Sisters of Mercy. There she worked on the albums Gift (released under the title "The Sisterhood") and 1986's Floodland.
The choice of Patricia Morrison as bassist starting with her work on the album "Floodland" (1987) was not a decision made without its weighing in on aesthetic value. In 1996, she was invited to join the band The Damned after bassist Paul Gray was injured by a fan at a concert. That same year Morrison married lead singer Dave Vanian. After giving birth to Emily Vanian in 2004, Patricia Morrison retired from The Damned and Stu West took over as the group's bassist. It's unclear whether Morrison will eventually return to play or not...
