Biografie : Apatheia

The alternative rock band Apatheia has been a fixture on the Czech music scene since the year 1999. From the start it has consisted up of the following four people:

Michal Feber (vocals, guitars, keyboard)
Krystian Danel (guitars, violoncello, back vocals)
Krystian Szynder (bass guitar, back vocals)
Sebastian Balon (drums)

The band attracted attention to its self early with its second enterprise. The 4-song demo earned very positive reviews in Czech music magazines and some critics even dubbed the band as “the find of 2003.”

To date, the bands greatest success was participation in the semi-final of the national contest “Coca Cola Pop Star” in 2005, where out of 10 other groups- selected out of 500 applications, Apatheia received the special judges’ award. The judging panel, which was chaired by Petr --áp A&R Director SONY BMG Czech Rep. and composed of domestic celebrities and music publicists, said of the band that “We would like to use this award to accentuate their performance, and that is despite the fact that they have not reached the final.”

In November 2005 Apatheia took part in the filming of the program “Dobré ráno s --eskou Televizí,” where it played two of its songs.

Amongst their biggest successes abroad was the filming for the Polish private TV station POLSAT, for which the band recorded a short interview and played one of their songs live in the studio.

In spring 2006 the band recorded its inaugural album regular, which is now released under the wings of the Czech independent label Redblack.
